Why I Chose this Blog Name.....

I know.....when you read the Title of our Blog, you probably got the song from Grease stuck in your head, Right?  LOL. :) I am so sorry. I had so many other ideas for a blog name that just fit what I wanted to say, but they were ALL taken. :(  So....I sat there and thought over and over about what I wanted to title this blog. I kept coming back to the word "Grace." I was like I need to have the word "Grace" in there somewhere....."Grace is the Word" that I was looking for because it represents so much what we need from our Heavenly Father and what our children need from us. I am in awe by God's grace every single day. I blow it every single day and He washes me with His grace....even though I don't deserve it. That is what we need to be doing with our children and every other person we are in relationship with. It is amazing what Grace can do for us and our children. I am learning that one daily and need help daily.....Some days, it is more by the minute. :)

We have been reading Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel and it has been VERY convicting. I will have to write a separate post about this book when I finish it. WOW! I wish I had read it before we had children. I am definitely now in the process of changing the way I parent our children. I know it will take time and effort, but I know I can do all things through Christ. :)

So.....In naming this blog, "Grace is the word,"  I hoped to remind myself what *I* personally need to work on in regards to parenting my children the way the heavenly Father parents us. :)

Welcome to our blog!!!  I am so glad you stopped by. :) This blog is going to be all about our homeschooling journey. We created this blog with some goals in mind:
1. We wanted to share with our family and friends who are curious about what we are doing.
2. We hope to share ideas/articles with other homeschooling families.
3. We hope to connect with other homeschooling families. :)
4. At the end of the year, we hope to have a keepsake we can print of all that we did. :)I guess it would be like a Homeschool Yearbook

So, in this blog we will share our typical homeschooling days, occasional ideas and articles and just random thoughts.  We look forward to this year and this blogging journey! :)
